Noble Corporation and Petronas Suriname E&P Sign Clean Daily Rate Contract for Extended Scope in Block 52, with New Collaboration Option.

Suriname is the stage for yet another partnership in the oil and gas sector, with offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation and Malaysian oil company Petronas, through its subsidiary Petronas Suriname E&P, agreeing to swap equipment for an extended scope in Suriname.

Based on an existing contract, Noble and Petronas Suriname E&P have entered into an agreement for the 7th generation drillship Noble Voyager to drill a well in the Offshore Block 52 of Suriname. The scope of work has been transferred to the Noble Voyager from the Noble Discoverer, to which the contract option was previously assigned. Additionally, Petronas Suriname E&P is expanding its offshore operations in Suriname, strengthening the company’s presence in the region.

Collaboration with PETRONAS in Suriname

‘We are very pleased to continue our partnership and collaboration with PETRONAS in Suriname with this extension and agreement to transfer the scope of work to the Noble Voyager. This will be the third of our platforms to work in the Block 52 and we look forward to getting the Voyager back in action early in 2024′, said Blake Denton, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Contracts.

Offshore Activity in Suriname

The Noble Voyager recently completed an offshore contract in Mauritania. The drillship has moved to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to begin preparations for the scope of work for PETRONAS.
