Employees must undergo a period of training and preparation with free courses which will be made available by Senai de Xanxerê, bearing in mind that the new factory's production system will be fully robotized and automated.

Phase 01 is expected to be concluded in Santa Catarina by the end of next year and phase 02 by the end of 2024. As for production, 50% will be aimed at supplying the domestic market and the rest will be turned to exports. The new Nestlé Purina factory in Santa Catarina is being built next to BR 282 in Vargeão.

Generation of jobs and income

The new factory in Vargeão will use local labor in civil construction, which is trained through partnerships between the government of Santa Catarina and Nestle. In addition to the installation stages of the unit, starting this year, the estimate is to generate around one thousand outsourced jobs.

The region will benefit economically from the expansion of demand for agroindustry inputs, both for animal protein and the use of grains, which are used in the production of food for cats and dogs.

According to the company, the plant will be developed taking into account the policy of zero destination for sanitary landfills, use of renewable energy sources and water reuse projects. In the first phase, the factory will receive a line of wet foods with advanced, patented and unprecedented technology. The industrial park will have the structure dimensioned to contemplate other phases of expansion and installation of other production lines.

The importance of the project for the municipality of Vargeão

For the municipality of Vargeão, which has an estimated population of 3,5 inhabitants, the unit represents a unique transformation in history. In 2021, when the announcement of the factory arrived, the mayor of the city, Volmir Felipe, stated that it was an important day for the municipality and thanked him for all the commitment of the Santa Catarina government team and for all the partnerships that they already have in place.
