The Automaker Announced That It Will Use Only Ethanol in Its Entire Brazilian Truck Fleet
Focused on reducing CO2 emissions, the Volkswagen vehicle manufacturer claims that it will use only ethanol in its fleet of trucks, eliminating 1,700 tons of gases per year and committing to its Global Program. According to Pablo Di Si, President & CEO of Volkswagen in Latin America, ethanol is a low-carbon biofuel and is also a renewable and clean source of energy. It is sustainable throughout its entire chain, considering the well-known concept of “from well to wheel,” that is, from its procurement, transport and refining, to its use in the engines and exhausts of the trucks.
Ethanol is essential when it comes to reducing carbon emissions from the automotive industries. Volkswagen, considering the importance of ethanol, will supply its flex-fuel trucks from its internal fleet with the biofuel.
