The New Honda CB 1000 GT, Presented at EICMA 2025 in Milan, Combines 1000 cm³ Engine Performance, Electronic Suspension Technology, and State-of-the-Art Connectivity, Reinforcing the Brand’s Bet in the Sport Touring Segment.

Honda introduced the CB 1000 GT at the EICMA 2025 in Milan, a new motorcycle in the sport tourer category that combines the technical foundation of the CB 1000 Hornet with solutions aimed at comfort during trips.

According to the manufacturer, the model marks the beginning of a new generation of large-displacement motorcycles developed to combine performance and comfort over long distances.

1000 cm³ Engine with Electronic Adjustments

The model uses a 1000 cm³ inline four-cylinder engine, with dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) and liquid cooling, the same as the Hornet.

According to Honda, the engine has received specific electronic injection calibration and electronic throttle (Throttle-by-Wire), allowing for a more progressive response to the throttle command.

The goal is to make power delivery more controllable and reduce the effort of the rider and passenger during long rides.

According to the brand, the behavior of the engine has been adjusted to provide linear accelerations without compromising performance.

The electronic system also acts on reducing vibrations and controlling response during acceleration.

Redesigned Structure and Aerodynamics

The structure of the CB 1000 GT is based on the diamond steel frame of the Hornet, but with a redesigned subframe.

This modification was made to increase stability and improve the accommodation of luggage and the passenger, as explained by the manufacturer during the presentation.

The model features an integrated front fairing and a windshield adjustable in five positions, with a range of 81 millimeters.

According to Honda, the design prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency and the balance between wind protection and dynamic behavior.

The style follows the trend of sport tourers, with angular surfaces and elements that contribute to air distribution around the rider, reducing resistance at high speeds.

Electronic Suspension with Automatic Adjustment

One of the main highlights is the EERA (Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment) electronic suspension, a standard feature.

The system automatically adjusts the damping force according to track conditions, based on data collected by a six-axis inertial sensor (IMU), the engine control unit (ECU), and wheel speed sensors.

According to Honda, the technology maintains constant contact of the tires with the ground and adapts the suspension response in real-time, improving control during braking, acceleration, and turns.

This type of system is adopted in high-performance models aimed at long-distance tourism, as pointed out by industry experts.

Factory Quickshifter

The gearbox of the CB 1000 GT features a quickshifter as standard, allowing gear changes without engaging the clutch, except during stops and starts.

This feature, common on sport bikes, is used to make shifts faster and more consistent, reducing the time between gears.

According to Honda, the system has been calibrated to provide smooth shifts suitable for use on roads and long journeys.

The equipment also contributes to optimizing fuel consumption and reducing the rider’s effort during long trips.

Riding Modes and Electronic Control

The CB 1000 GT is equipped with five riding modes: Standard, Sport, Rain, Tour, and User (customizable).

These modes adjust parameters such as throttle response, power, and traction control, allowing adaptation of the motorcycle to different usage conditions.

The manufacturer claims that the system makes riding easier on wet surfaces, urban routes, and touring with full load.

Operation is done through controls on the handlebar and the TFT display, which centralizes motorcycle information and configuration selection.

Connectivity and Original Accessories

The model features the Honda RoadSync system, which allows pairing a smartphone via Bluetooth® for calls and navigation by voice.

According to the brand, the feature was developed to provide route guidance without the need for manual interaction with the phone, increasing convenience during the ride.

Among the available original accessories are side cases and top case, tall windshield, and comfort seats.

These items expand load capacity and aim to meet the needs of users who utilize the motorcycle for long-distance tourism.

Performance and Market Positioning

The CB 1000 GT is part of Honda’s strategy to expand its line of high-displacement sport touring models.

The project aims to balance power, comfort, and onboard technology.

According to industry analysts, the high-displacement touring segment has remained stable in Europe, with a growing focus on advanced electronics and connectivity.

The use of the same engine as the Hornet, combined with electronic suspension and riding control, positions the CB 1000 GT among sport tourers with high-performance proposals, but designed for everyday use and long trips.

Launch and Target Markets

According to information released by Honda, the CB 1000 GT will be sold in Europe, Japan, and countries in Asia and Oceania.

The brand has not disclosed prices or official launch date at this time.

In Brazil, the motorcycle does not yet have an expected arrival date, although it has already been registered with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).

The registration, according to experts, is a common procedure to safeguard the model name and does not necessarily indicate the start of sales in the short term.

Expectations and Target Audience

The CB 1000 GT is aimed at users who travel long distances and seek performance close to that of a sport naked bike, but with ergonomics and aerodynamic protection suited for touring.

According to Honda, the combination of high-displacement engine, electronic suspension, and riding modes enhances the versatility of the model for different types of use.

The potential audience includes motorcyclists who use the motorcycle for both daily commutes and highway trips.

The brand also bets on connectivity and electronic adjustments as differentiators compared to direct competitors in the 1000 cm³ segment.

With advancements in technologies aimed at comfort and safety, the CB 1000 GT could redefine Honda’s presence in the high-displacement touring segment.

It remains to be seen whether the model will also reach the Brazilian market in the coming years — and, if so, what the price positioning will be against the rivals already available in the country.
