The Fully Electric Mercedes EQ Range Welcomes a New Member, the New 2023 Mercedes EQT. It Sits Below the EQV as the Replacement for the T-Class EV.
The expectation is that the new 2023 Mercedes EQT will go on sale later this year for around € 49,000 in the coming months. Like the T-Class, the EQT is a people-mover based on a van, but a more practical camper version will arrive later in the form of the Marco Polo, which has already been showcased with a concept model.
The EQT uses the same fundamentals as the T-Class and the Renault Kangoo (and Kangoo E-Tech). Like most electric vans and MPVs, the EQT does not differ much from the T-Class externally, except for the white grille. A new set of optional LED headlights can be seen on the launch model, along with some 17-inch wheels – smaller 16-inch ones will be standard.
Features of the New 2023 Mercedes EQT
On the side, we can see the same sliding rear doors as the T-Class, and the interior is nearly identical, featuring a three-seat foldable bench for the second row. The base-spec EQT comes with black fabric upholstery, with some elements featuring synthetic leather trim, while a long-wheelbase version – expected to arrive at the end of 2023 – will offer extra space in the cabin.

Since its launch, the new 2023 Mercedes EQT has 120 hp and 245 Nm from a front-mounted electric motor, powered by a 45 kWh battery. The official range is 175 miles – nearly the same as Stellantis offerings like the Citroen e-Berlingo, Vauxhall Vivaro Electric, and Peugeot e-Partner. Thanks to 80 kW of DC charging capacity, the EQT can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 38 minutes. There is also a 22 kW AC charger on board.
The technology package of the EQT is built around Mercedes’ MBUX software, although its seven-inch touchscreen is smaller than that found in its conventional models.
Changes to the T-Class with combustion engine include a pair of analog gauges showing speed and power usage – separated by a 5.5-inch binocular instrument display. The voice assistant “Hey Mercedes” costs extra, but every EQT comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and DAB radio. Hill Start Assist, Driver Fatigue Monitor, and Lane Keeping Assist are also included.
Buyers can equip their new 2023 Mercedes EQT with various optional packages, including driver assistance and navigation package and three main trim levels. They start with the Advanced Plus, which includes a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, ambient lighting, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. Premium models add parking assistance, LED headlights, wireless charging, and more comprehensive driver assistance.
