Roles and Responsibilities of Hired Staff in the IBGE Contest
The Research and Mapping Agent will primarily be tasked with visiting households, commercial establishments, industrial areas, and agricultural properties to collect statistical and geographical data. They may also be involved in updating maps, recording territorial information, and administering questionnaires in person or by phone. The role requires availability for outdoor activities and the use of equipment provided by IBGE.
The Collection and Quality Supervisor will be responsible for planning field activities, supervising agent teams, checking data quality, and preparing technical reports. The position also includes logistical support, organizing training, and direct contact with regional coordination.
Both roles require responsibility for public equipment, basic computer skills, and the ability to handle administrative and operational routines in diverse environments.
IBGE Bets on the Resumption of Field Research
The opening of new positions reflects IBGE’s effort to strengthen its role in national statistical surveys. According to the Institute, hiring temporary staff is strategic to ensure the continuity of essential research, particularly given the need to keep data updated in areas such as employment, health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure.
With the resumption of investments in on-site data collection, it is expected that new selection processes will occur throughout the year, expanding the teams responsible for generating information that guides public policies across the country.
Opportunity for Those Seeking Experience in Public Service
In addition to the competitive salary and benefits offered, IBGE’s temporary contracts have been an entry point for many professionals seeking experience in the public sector. Temporary staff undergo training, use cutting-edge technologies in the field, and contribute directly to projects that impact society as a whole.
At the end of the contract, temporary staff receive certification of their experience and can use this experience for future selections in public agencies or even in the private sector.
