Honda has officially announced the launch of the Honda CR-V 2026 TrailSport Hybrid, the brand’s latest bet in the global SUV market. The version combines off-road robustness with a state-of-the-art hybrid powertrain, reinforcing the automaker’s presence in the electrified segment. The new Honda SUV will start arriving at dealerships in the United States in the first half of 2025 and may influence future brand strategies for Latin America and Brazil.

With standard all-wheel drive, exclusive design, hybrid powertrain, and a wide range of technological features, the Honda CR-V 2026 TrailSport Hybrid integrates a renewed lineup that focuses on sustainability, performance, and safety. The debut of the TrailSport version with a hybrid powertrain is unprecedented and meets a growing demand for SUVs with off-road capabilities and lower environmental impact.

Rugged Design And Focus On Off-Road Use

Unlike other versions of the Honda CR-V 2026, the TrailSport stands out visually for its black piano finish, exclusive 18-inch Shark Gray wheels, and TrailSport badges throughout the body. The SUV is also equipped with Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires and an enhanced traction management system, ideal for trails, snow, and mud.

Among the standout features are the 10.2-inch digital display, a 9” touchscreen multimedia system compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as wireless mobile charging, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

All hybrid versions of the Honda CR-V 2026, including the TrailSport, are equipped with the fourth generation of the brand’s hybrid system. The powertrain combines two electric motors with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with Atkinson cycle, delivering a combined power of 204 hp and torque of 32.5 kgfm.

According to Honda, the enhanced hybrid system offers better energy efficiency and a more responsive driving experience, making it ideal for urban, highway, and off-road use.

The TrailSport version also features a dedicated transmission with two-stage locking, designed to optimize performance in low traction conditions. Driving modes include options like ECON, Normal, Sport, and Snow, adapting to different types of terrain and driving styles.

2026 Lineup Includes Seven Versions And Bets On Hybrid Sales

The Honda CR-V 2026 will be sold in seven versions in the United States. Three of them are equipped with a gasoline turbo engine (LX, EX, and EX-L) and four with hybrid powertrains: Sport Hybrid, TrailSport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid. Currently, more than 50% of the model’s sales come from hybrid versions, a trend that is expected to continue in the new cycle.

The Sport Touring Hybrid version also debuts integration with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and access to Google Play, with a data package included for three years, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to connectivity and digital services.

The model also includes 10 airbags as standard, including rear side airbags, knee airbags, and advanced front airbags, as well as a seat belt and rear seat occupancy warning system.

Production And Commitment To The North American Market

Manufactured in three Honda plants in North America — East Liberty (Ohio), Indiana, and Alliston (Canada) — the new CR-V 2026 reinforces the brand’s commitment to local development and the use of global and regional components. Since 2006, over 3 million units of the CR-V have been produced in the United States, establishing the model as one of the most popular SUVs in the country.

Expectations For Brazil

Although there is no official confirmation about the arrival of the Honda CR-V 2026 TrailSport Hybrid to the Brazilian market, the advancement of electrification and the growing acceptance of hybrid SUVs in the country make the hypothesis quite plausible. If Honda chooses to import the new SUV, it should position itself above the HR-V and compete with models such as Toyota RAV4, Jeep Compass 4xe, and other plug-in hybrids.

Há muitos anos atrás um colega me disse: “O dia que você tiver um carro da Honda, você nunca mais sairá da marca”; À época tinha um carro da Chevrolet, após um tempo comprei um Civic e hoje tenho um CR-V, zero dor de cabeça, foi o melhor conselho que já recebi.
