New Honda SUV gains TrailSport version with all-wheel drive, new design and hybrid engine reinforces the Japanese brand's offensive in the electrified utility segment.

Honda has officially launched the 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport Hybrid, the brand's latest addition to the global SUV market. The version combines off-road robustness with a state-of-the-art hybrid engine, reinforcing the automaker's presence in the electric vehicle segment. Honda's new SUV will begin arriving at dealerships in the United States in the first half of 2025 and could influence the brand's future strategies for Latin America and Brazil.

With standard all-wheel drive, exclusive design, hybrid engine and a wide range of technological equipment, the Honda CR-V 2026 TrailSport Hybrid is part of a renewed line that focuses on sustainability, performance and safety. The debut of the TrailSport version with hybrid engine is unprecedented and meets a growing demand for SUVs with off-road vocation and lower environmental impact.

Robust design and focus on off-road use

Unlike other versions of the 2026 Honda CR-V, the TrailSport stands out visually with a piano black finish, exclusive 18-inch wheels in Shark Gray and TrailSport emblems throughout the body. The SUV is also equipped with Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires and an improved traction management system, ideal for trails, snow and mud.

The striking look follows the new positioning of the TrailSport line as an alternative for consumers who prioritize robustness without sacrificing efficiency.

Functional and connected interior with fourth-generation hybrid powertrain and performance

Inside, Honda's new SUV features a refined and functional environment, with details designed to withstand any season. The headrests feature the TrailSport logo, while the rubber mats and amber ambient lighting reinforce the version's adventurous proposal.

Among the standout equipment are the 10,2-inch digital panel, multimedia center with a 9” touchscreen and compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an induction cell phone charger, heated front seats and heated steering wheel.

The entire 2026 Honda CR-V hybrid range, including the TrailSport, is equipped with the brand's fourth-generation hybrid system. The powertrain combines two electric motors with the 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine, delivering a combined power of 204 hp and 32,5 kgfm of torque.

According to Honda, the improved hybrid system offers better energy efficiency and more responsive driving, making it ideal for urban, highway and uneven terrain use.

The TrailSport version also features a dedicated two-stage lockout transmission, designed to optimize performance in low-traction conditions. Driving modes include options such as ECON, Normal, Sport and Snow, adapting to different types of terrain and driving styles.

2026 line includes seven versions and focuses on hybrid sales

Honda CR-V 2026 will be sold in seven versions in the United States. Three of them are equipped with a turbocharged gasoline engine (LX, EX and EX-L) and four with a hybrid engine: Sport Hybrid, TrailSport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid. Currently, more than 50% of the model's sales are hybrid versions, a trend that should continue in the new cycle.

The Sport Touring Hybrid version also debuts integration with Google Assistant, Google Maps and access to Google Play, with a data package included for three years, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to connectivity and digital services.

State-of-the-art active and passive safety

Honda's new SUV The Honda Sensing® package is still equipped with a comprehensive suite of active safety and driving assistance technologies. Features include a collision mitigation braking system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, hill descent control and snow driving mode.

The model also has 10 standard airbags, including the latest generation rear side, knee and front airbags, as well as a seat belt and rear seat occupancy warning system.

Production and commitment to the North American market

Manufactured at three Honda plants in North America — East Liberty, Ohio, Indiana and Alliston, Canada — the new 2026 CR-V reinforces the brand’s commitment to local development and the use of global and regional components. Since 2006, more than 3 million CR-Vs have been produced in the United States, solidifying the model as one of the most popular SUVs in the country.

Expectations for Brazil

Although there is no official confirmation about the arrival of the Honda CR-V 2026 TrailSport Hybrid In the Brazilian market, the advance of electrification and the growing acceptance of hybrid SUVs in the country make the hypothesis quite plausible. If Honda chooses to import the new SUV, it should position itself above the HR-V and compete with models such as the Toyota RAV4, Jeep Compass 4xe and other plug-in hybrids.

I'm in love with the Honda CRV. I've had two. Today I have my wife's Honda HRV. I'm waiting for the 2026 CRV. I recommend Honda.

Many years ago a colleague told me: “The day you have a Honda car, you will never leave the brand again”; At the time I had a Chevrolet car, after a while I bought a Civic and today I have a CR-V, zero headache, it was the best advice I ever received.
