Volkswagen Is Testing the New 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan for Some Time and Due to Minimal Camouflage, the German Automaker’s Mid-Size SUV Could Be Fully Revealed This Year.
As we have seen before, there doesn’t seem to be much ready to change regarding the design of the new model. The range of VW gasoline engine cars generally adopts an evolutionary design language – evidenced by the next generation of the Passat and Touareg.
Thus, this may even be the last appearance of the New 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan, as the 2030 ban on combustion engine vehicles approaches and Volkswagen focuses on its growing lineup of fully electric ID models.
We expect this New 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan third generation to perform well in 2030, and the name Tiguan will likely continue as an EV. VW head Thomas Schäfer recently told Auto Express that the Golf could enter the ID range, although he questioned whether the name Polo would be iconic enough to exist as an EV – a quite challenging task in the case of the Tiguan by comparison.

It looks like a van but works as a light truck: Foton presents in China the Toano Aucan F2.5 chassis cab, with rear-wheel drive, manual transmission, leaf springs, and a safety package for intensive commercial operations.

Honda ends the gasoline era: HR-V 2028 will feature a new 1.5 hybrid engine, greater range, more efficient consumption, AI in Honda Sensing, 360° 3D cameras, advanced semi-autonomous driving, and a new e:HEV system to compete with Chinese SUVs in the global market.

Toyota launches Corolla cheaper than Renault Kwid and Fiat Mobi with a 1.5 engine of 120 hp, 6-speed manual transmission, and a price of R$ 66,000; the sedan for driving schools in Japan also received a 140 hp hybrid version.

Ford launches the new Edge 2027 with a 252 hp 2.0 turbo engine from the Maverick, a 275 hp hybrid version, 7 seats, a 27” screen, premium finish, and a price equivalent to R$ 165,000; less than the Territory in Brazil.
Features of the New 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan
The proportions of the new car are similar to the current Tiguan, but it seems it will be enlarged to be closer to the Touareg SUV; it is unclear if we will have another seven-seater Tiguan to rival the Mercedes EQB. At the back, the suspension noticeably drops, likely caused by the new hybrid system.
At the rear, we would like to see two separate sets of taillights, instead of the full-width LED taillights that VW likes to reserve for its ID cars. Don’t be alarmed by the exhausts on the rear bumper; they are fake.
The outgoing Tiguan used a larger version of the previous Golf’s MQB platform, and it’s a similar story for the new model.
The MQB Evo platform that supports the Mk8 Golf, Cupra Formentor, Audi A3, and Skoda Octavia is expected to be used in the New 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan, allowing the new model to be equipped with the same plug-in hybrid powertrain as the Golf.
We can also expect a lineup of engines similar to the Golf, including gasoline and TDI diesel, as well as hybrid variants.
The larger and heavier New 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan could drop the Golf’s 1.0-liter and 109 hp engine and start with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 148 hp. A mild-hybrid eTSI version may also be featured.
The New 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan diesel models with 148 hp and 197 hp will likely surpass the Golf, and above that, we expect to see a plug-in hybrid variant with 238 hp. It’s possible that a hot Tiguan R could be compared to a Golf R in racing equipment.
