The Production of Structures for Electric and Competitive Vehicles, Partnerships with Universities and Research Fields Are the New Investment Strategies in Niobium from the Largest Supplier of Products with This Metal.
The sectors involving niobium shrank by about 20% in sales and production at the beginning of the pandemic. However, by the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021, there was a significant recovery registered in Brazil. With the new niobium markets, the possibilities are only expected to expand.
Thus, the new niobium markets should contribute to the recovery of both the direct and indirect economy of the production sector, generating jobs and new possibilities for production and technology.
In other words, the demand for niobium products is in a recovery phase amidst the challenges that still need to be overcome regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. The expectation is to expand production to 225,000 tons per year. This would meet 100% of the Brazilian market, according to the company CBMM.
