The New Refinery in Bahia Will Be Essential to Expand Fuel Production in the Region. The Billion-Dollar Investment from Noxis Energy Will Bring Even More Benefits to the Future Project.

The giant Noxis Energy is working on a new project in the state of Bahia. It is a refinery that will be installed in Ilhéus, with an investment of R$ 5.3 billion over the coming years. The plant will have a refining capacity of more than 5 million tons of fuels per year, ensuring even more quality and efficiency in the regional market.

New Refinery Construction Project in Ilhéus Is Noxis Energy’s Major Bet for the Brazilian Fuel Market in the Coming Years

The Brazilian company Noxis Energy announced that it plans to implement a refinery in Ilhéus, on the Cocoa Coast, with an investment of R$ 5.3 billion.

The new plant will be dedicated to the production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gasoline A, automotive and marine diesel, and marine fuel oil (bunker).

Additionally, the refinery will have the capacity to produce over 5 million tons of fuels per year, and construction is expected to begin in 2024.

The project was the subject of a letter of intent signed with the State’s Secretary of Economic Development (SDE) and anticipates the generation of 3,500 jobs during the refinery’s construction and more than 600 direct and indirect jobs during the operational phase.

The Bahia refinery will produce Bunker and Marine Diesel, fuels suitable for ships, gasoline for motor vehicles, and diesel oil for the road and rail sectors, aimed at the transportation of cargo and passengers.

The liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will be produced for use as fuel in heating appliances and cooking equipment.

The company’s idea is to work over the next 20 months on project structuring, as well as environmental studies. The project still does not have a raw material supplier or a defined anchor client.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Angelo Almeida, emphasized that Bahia will gain another refinery, in addition to the two already operating: Acelen, which operates the Mataripe Refinery, and Dax Oill Refino, located in Camaçari.

He believes that the project will be essential not only for the fuel market but also for the entire economy of the state of Bahia.

The company plans to expand its business and meet the demand of different regions of the country by producing a wide range of fuels.

The implementation of the new refinery in Ilhéus, on the Cocoa Coast, will be an important milestone for the company, which will have the opportunity to expand its business and generate jobs in a strategic region of the country.

In addition to strengthening the region’s and the country’s economy, the new refinery will also bring environmental benefits, as Noxis Energy commits to adopting sustainable and responsible practices in its operations, aiming to reduce negative environmental impacts.

Now, the company will continue with the billion-dollar investment to develop the new refinery project in Ilhéus as soon as possible.
