Agreement Allows the Sale of Products Based on Poultry, Swine, and Beef Fat, Marking the 422nd New Market Access for the Brazilian Agribusiness.
The Brazilian government announced the conclusion of a sanitary negotiation with Japan. The agreement authorizes the export of animal fat products to the Japanese market. These inputs are used in the production of feed and “pet food”. The measure represents a significant advancement for the national agribusiness in one of the most rigorous markets in the world.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) reported the conclusion of the agreement with the government of Japan. The negotiation allows the export of products based on poultry, swine, and beef fat. This sanitary authorization was a fundamental step for access to this new segment in the Japanese market.

A farm in the Mexican desert has become so green that today it has rivers flowing year-round and even rain in the dry season, all thanks to a technique that transforms dead sand into fertile soil with manure, mountain microorganisms, and what farmers call the secret soil formula.
What Will Brazil Sell to Japan?
The agreement covers products based on poultry, swine, and beef fat. These are essential ingredients in the production of animal feed and, especially, “pet food”. Brazil is already a major supplier of soy and corn to Japan. Now, the country strengthens its position as a strategic partner also in supplying animal raw materials.
Agribusiness Expansion: The Mark of 422 New Markets
This new market opening in Japan is an important milestone. With it, the Brazilian agribusiness reaches the mark of 422 new market accesses during the current administration. This expansion covers a total of 71 countries, consolidating Brazil’s presence in global agricultural trade.
The Success of Government Collaboration
The success in the negotiation with Japan is the result of a joint effort. The work was coordinated between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE). The collaboration between the two ministries was essential to achieve this positive outcome for Brazil.
