Stellantis And Leapmotor Bring Innovation With The Electric Compact T03, Now Produced In Poland, To Face The Brazilian Market!
Stellantis, in partnership with Chinese Leapmotor, is about to bring a new revolution to the Brazilian automotive market with the Electric Compact Leapmotor T03. Initially planned to be produced in China, the T03 will now be manufactured in Poland due to new import duties imposed by the European Union. According to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, this strategic change aims to circumvent new trade barriers and accelerate the model’s arrival in global markets, including Brazil, according to cnnbrasil.
Last week, the first units of the Leapmotor T03 have already started being produced at the Stellantis factory in Tychy, Poland. Mass production is expected to begin in September, with the expectation that the model will arrive in Brazil later this year. And the news doesn’t stop there – the T03 won’t come alone. Stellantis also confirmed the launch of the Electric SUV C10 in the Brazilian market, promising more options for consumers looking for high-quality electric vehicles.
Leapmotor T03: High-Performance Electric Compact
The Leapmotor T03 stands out as an urban electric car with high market expectations. Equipped with a front electric motor producing 109 hp and 16 kgfm of torque, the T03 offers interesting performance for a compact, reaching 100 km/h in 12 seconds and a top speed of 120 km/h. Its 41.3 kWh battery provides a range of up to 280 km on a single charge, according to the European measurement cycle.

In Europe, the T03 will face main competition from the Dacia Spring, equivalent to the Renault Kwid E-Tech in Brazil, as well as the BYD Dolphin Mini. This fierce competition highlights the importance of an efficient and affordable car to attract consumers seeking sustainable and economical alternatives.
Production In Poland: Cost And Logistics
The decision to move the production of the Leapmotor T03 to Poland was a strategic move to minimize production costs and avoid new import duties from the European Union. Producing the compact in Poland keeps costs nearly equivalent to those in China, estimated between €400 and €500 per unit, a competitive value in the automotive market.
If Stellantis had chosen to manufacture the T03 at one of its Italian factories, costs would be significantly higher, around €1,000 per unit. Therefore, the factory in Tychy offers an efficient and economical solution to meet European and eventually global demand.
Global Expansion And Arrival In Brazil
Stellantis’ global expansion plan for the Leapmotor T03 includes key markets such as Middle East, Africa, and South America, with a focus on Brazil. The forecast is for the T03 to reach the Brazilian market later this year, bringing an attractive option for consumers seeking a compact, efficient, and affordable electric car.
In addition to the T03, Stellantis confirmed the arrival of the Electric SUV C10 in Brazil. Measuring 4.73 meters in length, the C10 is positioned in the large SUV segment, offering a robust and modern option for consumers. Equipped with a rear motor producing 231 hp and 32.63 kgfm of torque, the C10 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, with a top speed of 170 km/h. Its 69.9 kWh battery provides a range of up to 530 km in the CLTC cycle.
A New Era For Electric Cars In Brazil
The arrival of the Leapmotor T03 and the C10 SUV marks a new era for electric cars in Brazil, offering modern, efficient, and affordable options for consumers. With production in Poland, Stellantis and Leapmotor demonstrate a commitment to innovation and sustainability, ready to face the challenges of the global market and provide high-quality products to their customers.
