Macaé Was Awarded Projects That Provide for the Installation of At Least 12 Thermoelectric Plants in the City, Which Led to the Creation of the Project to Provide Information to Students from Municipal and State Networks in Northern Fluminense
On the last Monday, March 7, the opening of the “Thermoelectric Plants in Schools” Project was held at Colégio Estadual Visconde de Araújo, in the city of Macaé, in the interior of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The event featured a lecture by the Director of EDF Norte Fluminense, Jean Phellipe de Oliveira, who was welcomed by the College Director, Felipe Damião, as well as Pedro Costa and Danilo Galvão, the project’s idealizers.
The Director of EDF Norte Fluminense visited the State College, was very impressed by what he saw, and emphasized the importance of Education in people’s lives. Jean Phelipe de Oliveira gave a 45-minute lecture to the students, who had the opportunity to learn about the mixed-capital state company Electricité de France (EDF), one of the largest companies in the world in electricity generation.
During the lecture, the projects carried out by EDF Norte Fluminense, in Macaé, and by the Sinop Hydroelectric Plant, in Mato Grosso do Sul, were presented. EDF has projects on all 5 continents, with over 158,000 employees.

How Will the “Thermoelectric Plants in Schools” Project Happen?
The “Thermoelectric Plants in Schools” project will include workbooks, videos, technical visits, lectures, and instructors, so that students from the public network in Macaé and the surrounding area can have an immersive experience regarding this topic. The state network students will work with four modules that address not only thermoelectric plants but also energy generation in Brazil. Learn more about the project, published in 2021, here.
