Highway SC-434, Main Access to Garopaba, Has Been Completely Revitalized with New Layers of Asphalt, German Junctions, and Complete Signage.
The main access route to Garopaba, in Southern Santa Catarina, underwent extensive revitalization work. The Abílio Manoel de Lima Highway (SC-434) was completely restructured with an investment of R$ 10 million, promoted by the State Government through the Department of Infrastructure and Mobility.
The work is part of the Good Road Program, considered the largest road project in the history of Santa Catarina.

The Work Brought Road Improvements Along the Entire Length of the Route
The SC-434 connects the city of Garopaba to BR-101, and the revitalization included a series of interventions to ensure more safety and comfort in traffic.

Among the services performed, deep patching on the roadway, milling of the old asphalt, and reconstruction of the entire asphalt layer were carried out.
The recovery of the shoulders, implementation of a storm drainage system, and complete improvements in signage, both horizontal and vertical, were also made.
The interventions aim to ensure durability and greater safety for drivers traveling through the region, especially during peak times.
Installation of Junctions and Speed Bumps Organizes the Flow
One of the main innovations of the revitalization was the installation of four German junctions. They were placed at the accesses to Bairro Limpa, Praia da Barra, Serraria in the Encantada neighborhood, and the Ambrósio neighborhood. These conversion devices aim to reduce risks and organize traffic at intersections.
Additionally, speed bumps and raised crosswalks were constructed, focusing on reducing speed in urban areas and frequently crossed paths.
The Work Is Part of the Good Road Program
The Good Road Program includes more than 50 roadworks in Santa Catarina, with investments exceeding R$ 3.5 billion. The revitalization of SC-434 is one of the recent deliveries of the program, which is expected to continue with works until 2026.
According to Governor Jorginho Mello, the goal is to transform the road network of Santa Catarina and improve travel between cities and regions of the state.
