Elon Musk Remains in First Place After Tesla Sales Success, While Warren Buffett Drops to 10th Place for the First Time in Many Years!

June was a busy month for billionaires. Elon Musk stayed at the top of the Forbes ranking, mainly due to the excellent performance of Tesla. Musk’s fortune increased by US$ 11.1 billion (R$ 61.9 billion) since June 1, totaling nearly US$ 19 billion (R$ 106 billion) in the last two months.

SpaceX, another of Musk’s companies, is about to sell shares in an offering that values the company at US$ 210 billion (R$ 1.1 trillion), an increase from US$ 180 billion (R$ 1 trillion) last December. Musk holds an estimated 42% stake in the company.

Fortunes Behind Fortunes

Jeff Bezos, whose fortune increased by US$ 15.5 billion (R$ 86.4 billion) last month, rose to 2nd place as Amazon’s market capitalization surpassed US$ 2 trillion for the first time at the end of June.

Bernard Arnault, who was the richest person in the world from February until the end of May, dropped to 3rd place due to the decline in shares of the LVMH group for the second consecutive month.

The biggest winner of the month was Larry Ellison, whose fortune increased by US$ 26.8 billion (R$ 149.5 billion), reaching an estimated US$ 173 billion, as Oracle shares hit all-time highs.

Warren Buffett revealed in the last week of June that he donated shares of Berkshire Hathaway worth about US$ 5.3 billion. This donation, along with a slight drop in the holding’s stock value, led him to 10th place in the billionaire ranking as of July 1, the lowest position Buffett, the world’s largest philanthropist, has held in years.
