The Tradener Wind Farm in Southern Bahia
All the turbines are in operation, 10 of them are in the testing period, awaiting the operating license to start commercial operation. With a total installed capacity of 79.9 MW, the Pindaí wind farm in Bahia has an estimated average energy generation of 38 MW. During the construction of the works, more than 500 direct jobs were generated, in addition to another 300 indirect jobs, in the Pindaí and Guanambi region.
All the energy generated by the wind farm is being marketed by Tradener, serving large consumers in the Free Energy Market. This park is another solution that provides Tradener’s consumers the opportunity to acquire clean and renewable energy, as well as promoting security in energy supply and the possibility of certification in the very near future.

The Investments Made in the Project
The project built in partnership with Wobben received investments of R$ 470 million for implementation, with part financed by Banco do Nordeste (BNB). This wind farm is the first built by Tradener in partnership with Wobben, a German wind turbine manufacturer that uses technology that dispenses with the gearbox, making it safer and more reliable.
Tradener is one of the largest independent electricity and natural gas marketers in the country, focusing on free electricity consumers and independent producers. A pioneer in the segment since 1998, it was the first company in Brazil authorized by Aneel to trade energy with free consumers and generators in the free contracting environment. With investments in renewable generation, the company ranks among the largest and best companies in Brazil.

AES Brasil Energia and food company BRF announced the formation of a joint venture with shared control for the construction of a wind farm for self-generation at the Cajuína Wind Complex in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The project will have an installed capacity of 160 MWm, generating 80 MWm to be marketed with BRF through a 15-year power purchase agreement.
The Cajuína Wind Complex in the state of Rio Grande do Norte has a cluster potential of up to 1.5 GW. The agreement involves the investment in a 160 MW capacity park, equivalent to 92 MW of assured average energy. The estimated investment is approximately R$ 825 million.
The energy supply for BRF will be 80 MW of average energy marketed through a contract with a 15-year term to be signed between the joint venture and the food producer. BRF stated that it will invest approximately R$ 80 million directly, to be disbursed during the development of the project, with operations expected to start in 2024. The construction works for the new wind farm are set to begin in the last quarter of this year and will feature Nordex Acciona machines on the 5.x MW platform for each unit.
