Petrobras announced the disclosure stage of the sale of its remaining stake, 10%, in the Nova Transportadora do Sudeste (NTS) pipeline. The company continues with its asset sale plans. The drop in oil barrel prices is causing Petrobras to exit other sectors and focus solely on oil and gas exploration and production.

NTS (Nova Transportadora do Sudeste S/A – NTS) is a company in the natural gas transportation sector in Brazil. With a network 2,048 kilometers long, NTS’s system is centered around the southeastern network, connecting Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Minas Gerais. It is connected to the Brazil-Bolivia pipeline to the west, growing associated oil fields, and natural gas terminals to the east and south.
The company currently holds the long-term authorization to operate and manage the pipeline system, with a capacity to transport 158.2 MMm³ of fuel per day.
The other partners of NTS are Nova Infraestrutura Fundo de Investimentos em Participações, an investment fund managed by Brookfield Brasil Asset Management Investimentos, with 82.35% equity participation, and Itaúsa with 7.65% equity participation.
