The Granting of Petrobras in the Fields Demonstrates That This Is a Positive Point for the Job Market as More Than One Company Can Operate in the Fields

This week, Petrobras began the disclosure phase of the opportunity regarding the concession of its interests in three onshore fields in production, located in the state of Espírito Santo, near the city of Linhares, known as the Lagoa Parda Cluster (Lagoa Parda, Lagoa Parda Norte, and Lagoa Piabanha). Operator of all 3 fields with 100% participation, the average production of the cluster in 2017 was 266 barrels of oil per day and 20,000 m³/day of Gas.

The teaser, containing the main information about this opportunity, as well as the criteria and objectives for the selection of potential participants, is available on the Petrobras website.

The main subsequent stages of each development project of the company will be disclosed, in addition to the teaser linked above, announced as described below:

  • Beginning of the binding phase;
  • Granting of exclusivity for negotiation (when applicable);
  • Beginning of the non-binding phase (when applicable);
  • Approval of the transaction by senior management (Executive Board and Board of Directors) and signing of contracts;
  • Closing of the operation.

The current market disclosure is in accordance with the organization for Petrobras Developments and governed by the provisions of the special concession procedure for exploration, development, and production of oil, natural gas, and other derivatives, as stipulated in Decree 9.355/2018. The Manati field is operated by Petrobras and QGEP, both of which have already submitted the abandonment process for the asset. Check here the reasons.
