Highlights, the 10 largest companies in Brazil listed in the Forbes Global 2000 ranking in 2023

In the 2023 edition of the influential Forbes Global 2000 ranking, the Brazilian giants – Petrobras, Vale, Suzano, Itaú, Bradesco, Eletrobras, JBS and Banco do Brasil – made history by being listed among the biggest companies global. The ranking is based on four main metrics: sales, profits, assets and market value.

The Highlight of Brazilian Women in the Global Ranking

With a tone of national pride, it is critical to note that listed companies in 2023 had sales of $50,8 trillion, profits of $4,4 trillion, assets of $231 trillion and a market value of $74 trillion. Despite a slight decline in retained earnings, assets and market cap from the prior year, 2023 marked the first time that total revenue crossed the $50 trillion mark.

This global ranking included companies from 58 countries, with US companies leading with 611 listed entities and Chinese companies second with 346 companies.

How the Brazilian Giants Behaved in the Ranking

The highlight in the Brazilian scenario is Petrobras, which achieved the best position among the Brazilian companies listed, showing the strength of national companies in the global scenario.
