Xuxa’s mansion, known as “Nave Mãe”, was sold for R$ 45 million and today houses the family of Diether Werninghaus, a WEG shareholder, and the singer Karinah. The 2,780 m² property in Barra da Tijuca has 14 bathrooms, five suites, two pools, a private cinema, and even a “mini hospital”.

The former mansion of Xuxa, one of the most iconic properties in Brazil, has gained new billionaire residents. The property known as “Nave Mãe”, located in the luxury Malibu condominium in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, was sold for R$ 45 million and now belongs to the family of Diether Werninghaus, a shareholder of WEG, the multinational from Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina. The residence impresses with its size and the number of rooms and amenities.

The sale was completed in 2021, according to the site NDmais, when the presenter decided to part with the property. Diether Werninghaus, who lives in Xuxa’s mansion with his wife, the singer and samba artist known as Karinah, is the son of Geraldo Werninghaus, the deceased co-founder of WEG, and father of Anne Marie Werninghaus, pointed out as the company’s largest heiress. The house, which occupies three lots of the condominium, remains one of the most talked-about in the country.

Xuxa’s decision to sell the mansion is linked to a delicate moment in her personal life. The presenter chose to let go of the property after the death of her mother, Alda Meneghel, who passed away in 2018, at the age of 81, due to an illness. The property was put on the real estate market starting in 2019.

The “Mothership” was not just any house, it symbolized the most expansive and remarkable phase of Xuxa’s career. For years, the mansion was associated with the image of the presenter and became one of the most recognized addresses among Brazilian celebrity residences. When it went up for sale, the property sparked enormous curiosity precisely because of its size and the personalization that Xuxa imprinted over the time she lived there.
