Institute of Arts at UnB Opens Applications for Graduate Program in Art, Image, and Culture with Spots for Master’s and Doctorate and National Selection for New Researchers
The University of Brasília has opened a new selection for those who wish to pursue an academic career in Visual Arts. The Institute of Arts has released a notice with spots for Master’s and Doctorate, offering researchers and professionals the chance to deepen their studies on art, culture, and contemporary visual production.
Entry is scheduled for the second semester of 2026. Additionally, the program includes a policy of affirmative actions, expanding access to graduate studies and promoting diversity among new researchers.
In total, there will be 24 spots available, distributed between two course modalities. The selection process involves academic analysis, evaluation of the research project, and presentation before an examining board.

Yes. Participants who complete the program receive a academic title of Master’s or Doctorate in Visual Arts, granted by the University of Brasília.

How Does Registration Work to Participate in UnB’s Selection?

The registration period remains open until April 10, 2026. The fee is R$ 200, although there is a possibility of exemption for some specific profiles, such as people in situations of economic vulnerability, bone marrow donors, and servers linked to the Foundation University of Brasília.
After registration, participants undergo several evaluation stages. Among them are the analysis of the pre-research project, written exam, evaluation of the academic resume, and oral defense before an examining board.
