Even With the Automatic Data Cross-Reference System, 2.3 Million Retirees and Pensioners in 2025 Still Risk Benefit Suspension If They Do Not Regularize Their Proof of Life.
The proof of life for INSS has undergone significant changes in recent years. Since 2023, the requirement to appear in person at banks or INSS agencies is no longer the rule. Now, the process is done automatically, with data cross-referencing from public and private databases. However, data reveal that 2.3 million beneficiaries still risk having their payments blocked in 2025 if they do not regularize their situation.
How the Automatic Proof of Life Works
The new INSS system validates the life of the insured through data such as banking transactions, registry office records, vaccinations, medical consultations in SUS, and issuance of official documents.
This automation already covers about 90% of retirees and pensioners, or more than 30 million people.

Japan and Mercosur may reach an agreement to lower the cost of cars and auto parts, with manufacturers like Toyota, Honda, and Nissan coming into focus.
-
From an artificial island in the Gulf, Abu Dhabi’s oil company drilled more than fifteen kilometers horizontally and earned the title of the longest well ever drilled in the world.
-
On the coast of Guyana, neighboring Brazil, ExxonMobil has begun drilling oil wells with an automated system that practically removes human hands from controlling the drill.

Brazilians create cashierless mini-market in the USA, use AI to define products and prices, raise R$ 10 million, and achieve financial balance in the first month before planning nine more units in Miami by the end of 2026.
Despite this, not all cases are confirmed automatically.
Situations where the data do not match or are insufficient create pending issues, requiring the beneficiary to take extra steps.
Who Needs to Be Aware in 2025
According to information disclosed by the FDR portal, 2.3 million retirees received notifications from INSS indicating that the proof of life had not been completed.
These notifications appear in three main ways:
- Bank Statement: direct notice at the bank where the benefit is paid.
- Meu INSS App or Website: message “Proof of life not completed.”
- Central 135: confirmation by phone through INSS’s official channel.
The alert serves to ensure that the insured regularizes the pending issue before payment is suspended.
What to Do to Avoid Having Your Driver’s License Blocked
Anyone who received the notification should complete the proof of life through alternative means, such as:
- Facial Biometrics in the Meu INSS App (using the phone camera).
- Biometric Registration at the Paying Bank of the benefit.
- Registered Attorney at INSS, when there are mobility difficulties.
- Home Service, available for bedridden elderly or people with severe health problems.
It is essential not to ignore the notification, as the block may occur as early as the following month after the stipulated deadline.
Beware of Scams
The INSS emphasizes that it never requests documents, passwords, or transfers by phone, SMS, or WhatsApp.
Home visits only occur by official appointment.
Any suspicious requests should be ignored and reported.
The proof of life for INSS has become more practical for most, but millions of beneficiaries still need to act to avoid losing their payments in 2025.
The message is clear: always check the Meu INSS app, the bank statement, and Central 135 to avoid being caught off guard.
And you, have you ever needed to regularize the proof of life for INSS? What was your experience with the new system?
Leave your comment — your opinion can help other retirees and pensioners going through the same situation.
