Toyota, leading for the fourth consecutive year as the largest global automaker, reported impressive sales of 11,233,039 vehicles. Interestingly, only 0.93% of that total was made up of electric cars. Despite the seemingly small fraction, Toyota’s electric vehicle sales surged to 104,018 units, a remarkable growth of 325.2%. This increase signals a growing market demand for Toyota’s electric cars.
In comparison, Volkswagen, the second-largest in global sales, saw a significant increase in its electric lineup, from 1.4% to 8.3%, selling around 700,000 units and demonstrating a growing appetite for electric cars.
