This initiative is a valuable opportunity for the community, allowing more people to gain knowledge about Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and improve your communication skills.
From February 17, interested parties can enroll in the courses of Libras I, II and III, in addition to the Libras Kids, at Service Center for People with Deafness (CAS).

Offer of vacancies and modalities
The courses are a response to the growing demand for inclusive and accessible education.
With 585 vacancies available, the city hall seeks to serve a diverse public:
- Libras I: Offers 140 vacancies for the morning period and 140 for the afternoon. This course is ideal for beginners who want to learn the basics of Brazilian Sign Language.
- Libras II: The second stage has 105 morning vacancies and 105 in the afternoon, perfect for those who already have basic knowledge and want to deepen their skills.
- Libras III: With 35 vacancies available in each shift, this course is aimed at students who already have a solid understanding and are looking to advance even further.
- Libras Kids: Specially designed for children, it offers 15 morning vacancies and 15 afternoons. It is an excellent opportunity for young people between 8 and 14 years introduce themselves to the world of Libras.
Registration and enrollment process
Registration for courses will be carried out in a online, facilitating access for interested parties.
The registration link will be available from February 17, and the courses will be unlocked as per the planned schedule. Registrations 👈👈👈
On the other hand, for the course Libras Kids, registrations will take place in person at the headquarters of CAS.
This in-person process ensures that guardians can clarify doubts and confirm young people’s participation in a safe and personal manner.
Requirements for participation
To sign up for Libras Kids, participants must meet certain requirements:
- age group: Between 8 and 14 years.
- Literacy: Children must be literate, ensuring that they can follow the course.
- Documentation: It is necessary to present the original and a copy of an identity document with photo, in addition to the Tax ID (CPF) of the parent or guardian.
