The São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC) of the University of São Paulo (USP) is offering an unmissable opportunity: 500 free places for the course “Introduction to Aerospace Engineering”. Scheduled to begin in 2025, this free in-person course was designed for undergraduate and graduate classes in the areas of engineering and specific sciences, as well as professionals working in the aeronautical and space sectors.

The free course aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the aerospace sector, highlighting the different areas of knowledge involved in the development of space technologies, such as rockets, orbital mechanics and atmospheric reentry.

What is needed to participate?

To enroll, you must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course in engineering or exact sciences, or be a professional in the public or private sector working in the aerospace sector. This course is ideal for those who want to deepen their knowledge in the segment, whether as a student or professional.

With a theoretical and practical approach, participants will have the opportunity to explore fundamental concepts while interacting with an excellent academic environment. The course will be held in person at the Amphitheater of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at EESC/USP, in São Carlos.

Free course structure

The free USP course lasts 20 hours in person and covers the following topics:

  • Rockets and Orbital Launches : analysis of the CRS20 (Falcon 9) mission.
  • Alternatives to Rockets : cannons, space elevators, space planes, among others.
  • Rocket Conceptual Design : optimization of improvements, trajectory planning and thermochemical engines.
  • Orbital Mechanics : working equations and advanced orbital maneuvers.
  • Orbital Reentry and Controlled Landing : technologies and challenges.
  • Space Colony Project : life support systems in extreme environments.

This comprehensive structure ensures participants have a practical and theoretical understanding of the main areas of study related to the aerospace sector.

How to secure your spot?

Registration for the free USP course must be completed by December 13, 2024 at APOLO Platform . The selection process will be carried out in order of registration, so it is essential to register as soon as possible to guarantee your place.
