The Price of Gasoline Reached Extremely High Levels, Hitting R$ 6.98 Per Liter. Check the Updated Ranking of the 5 Brazilian States with the Highest Prices and Understand What Is Behind This Increase

The price of gasoline has increased. The average price of a liter of gasoline in Brazil recorded a slight rise, reaching R$ 6.10, slightly above the R$ 6.09 observed the previous week. In Rio Grande do Sul, the average value remained stable at R$ 6.12, according to the Price Survey by Fuels (LPC) conducted by the National Agency of Oil (ANP), which analyzed the period from September 8 to 14.

The Variation in Fuel Prices in Brazil Is Influenced by a Number of Factors. According to the ANP, state and federal taxes, such as PIS/Pasep, Cofins, Cide, and ICMS, add to the price at refineries and the distribution and resale profit margins to make up the final price that consumers pay at fuel stations.

Additionally, Petrobras, responsible for the majority of fuel refining in the country, states that price adjustments are based on “detailed and independent technical analyses.” This means that external factors, such as the price of oil per barrel in the international market and the exchange rate, also play an important role in the price of gasoline.

States with the Most Expensive Gasoline

Some Brazilian states register prices well above the national average. Acre (AC) leads the ranking, with the average price per liter of gasoline at R$ 6.98. Next come Amazonas (AM), at R$ 6.43, Rondônia (RO), at R$ 6.38, and Roraima (RR), at R$ 6.09. Rio Grande do Norte (RN) rounds out the list of the five states with the most expensive gasoline, with a price of R$ 6.07 per liter.

States with the Cheapest Gasoline

On the other hand, five states stand out for offering gasoline at lower prices, all below R$ 5.70. Paraíba (PB) recorded a price of R$ 5.67, while Maranhão (MA) presented an average price of R$ 5.66. Amapá (AP) shows R$ 5.60, and São Paulo (SP) offers one of the cheapest gasolines in the country, priced at R$ 5.59. Piauí (PI) leads the ranking of the cheapest gasoline, with an average value of R$ 5.56.

This variation in gasoline prices reflects regional differences in taxes and distribution costs. States farther from oil-producing centers, such as Acre and Amazonas, tend to have more expensive fuels due to transportation logistics.

On the other hand, regions close to refineries and ports, such as São Paulo and Piauí, manage to offer more competitive prices.

With the ongoing volatility in international markets and the influence of internal factors, such as the tax burden, Brazilian consumers should prepare for fluctuations in fuel prices in the coming weeks.

Acho que o Paraná está mais caro que Rondônia. Aqui em Curitiba está 6,39 e algumas localidades da região metropolitana está 6,49
