Requirements and Selection Process: How to Prepare to Compete for a Scholarship
For those interested in participating, the process starts with an internal selection at the higher education institution where the student is enrolled in the doctorate. It is essential to observe the deadline, which goes until April 30, to ensure participation. Subsequently, students approved for the scholarship at this stage will proceed to register in the CAPES Application System (Sicapes), which occurs from May 2 to May 16.
During the period abroad, selected students will receive financial support that includes a monthly scholarship, assistance for travel, installation, and health insurance, as well as possible location-based supplements. Eligibility Criteria and Important Information for Candidates
To ensure eligibility, it is essential that the student is enrolled in a doctoral program, demonstrates qualification for the PDSE, and possesses the necessary language proficiency, attested by the co-supervisor abroad and the supervisor in Brazil. Additionally, it is necessary to be a natural-born or naturalized Brazilian or to have a student visa or residency permit in Brazil, if foreign.
