Launch confirmed in China reveals focus on extreme performance, unique active cooling in the segment, and combination of advanced hardware with high-capacity battery, positioning the new Redmi model as a direct bet on the gamer audience and users who demand sustained power.

Redmi has scheduled for April 21, 2026, in China, the official presentation of the K90 Max, the new smartphone from the brand aimed at the gamer audience.

The event is expected to start at 7 PM Beijing time, which corresponds to 8 AM in Brasília, and is also likely to serve as a stage for the debut of other products from the manufacturer, including the Redmi K Pad 2, the Redmi Pad 2 SE, and the new Redmi Book Pro 14 and 16.

The public confirmation of the launch ends a series of rumors and anticipations surrounding the device, which has gained attention for betting on a feature still uncommon in the smartphone market: an internal cooling fan integrated into the body of the device.

The proposal from Redmi is to sustain high performance for longer periods in heavy gaming, without sacrificing protection against water and dust.

Cooling system with internal fan draws attention

The main differentiator of the K90 Max is precisely the thermal dissipation system.

Redmi K90 Max debuts with internal fan, Dimensity 9500 chip, 165 Hz display, and 8,500 mAh battery aimed at the gamer audience.

According to information already disclosed before the presentation, the phone uses a vertical fan with 18.1 mm, capable of generating internal airflow to reduce temperature during prolonged sessions of intense use.

The air outlet is integrated into the rear camera module area, a solution that helps explain why the model has been treated as a device clearly aimed at the gamer segment.

Even more relevant is the fact that Redmi claims that the adoption of this fan does not compromise the sealing of the device.

The international and Brazilian coverage of the announcement indicates that the K90 Max should maintain IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications, which, if fully confirmed at launch, will place the model in a rare category of smartphones with active cooling and high resistance to water and dust at the same time.

This combination helps explain the product’s positioning within the company’s portfolio.

The device has been described as a model situated between the Redmi K90 and the K90 Pro Max already sold in China, prioritizing sustained performance, thermal stability, and additional graphical features in gaming.

There is also mention of a dedicated graphics chip, although complete details still depend on the official presentation.

165 Hz OLED Display Reinforces Gaming Proposal

Another point that Redmi has already anticipated is the 6.83-inch display with a refresh rate of 165 Hz, a feature designed to improve fluidity in competitive matches and quick navigation through the interface.

The coverage published after the confirmation of the date still indicates that the panel should reach a maximum brightness of 3,500 nits and bring optimizations for dark scenarios in games, in addition to supporting over 40 titles running at up to 165 frames per second.

In the preliminary material released by specialized outlets, the resolution appears as 1.5K, with a centrally positioned front camera.

These features reinforce the high-end profile of the display, although part of this set is still treated as expected specifications until the final presentation.

In other words, the 165 Hz rate is already widely associated with the device, while items such as resolution and part of the finishing still depend on the definitive technical sheet of the event.

Dimensity 9500 and Battery of Up to 8,500 mAh

In terms of performance, the K90 Max is expected to arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, a platform described by various publications as a 3-nanometer chip aimed at the premium segment.

This processor is pointed out as one of the pillars of Redmi’s proposal for the model, which seeks to deliver a high frame rate with stability during longer periods of use.

The presence of an auxiliary graphics component also appears in recent teasers and reports, always associated with the goal of enhancing the gaming experience.

The battery is another detail that draws attention.

The value of 8,500 mAh frequently appears in anticipations about the device, always accompanied by 100 W wired charging.

Still, part of the international and Brazilian press notes that the capacity may range between 8,000 mAh and 8,500 mAh, indicating that this point was still awaiting final confirmation before the complete announcement.

As the 8,500 mAh figure is the most repeated in recent disclosures, it remains the most likely specification until the event.

As for the camera setup, the expectation is for a 50-megapixel main camera, with no extensive details so far about auxiliary sensors or advanced capture features.

There are also references to versions with 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of storage, in addition to an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and symmetrical dual speakers.

However, these elements predominantly appear in leaks and pre-launch compilations, not in the more streamlined set of features already emphasized by the brand in the event announcement.

Event also includes Redmi tablets and notebooks

The conference on April 21 is not expected to be limited to the new phone.

The event’s own schedule also includes the Redmi K Pad 2, described as a compact tablet with a Dimensity 9500 chip, the Redmi Pad 2 SE, aimed at cost-effectiveness, and the Redmi Book Pro 14 and 16 laptops from the 2026 line.

The strategy suggests a broader presentation of the brand’s ecosystem, focusing on productivity, entertainment, and gaming.

In the case of the K90 Max, the expectation is that the model will reinforce a niche that has regained attention among Chinese manufacturers.

The most recurring interpretation among the outlets that followed the teasers is that the device aims to combine raw power, a fast display, active cooling, and above-average battery life in one package.

Without abandoning attributes that are usually demanded in premium models, such as certified durability and more refined construction.

Until the official presentation, part of the technical specifications still remains in the realm of expectations.

The K90 Max will hit the Chinese market as a performance-centered phone with a focus on sustained performance and gaming experience, with special emphasis on the internal cooling system and a high refresh rate display.
