The ROVs Delivered to OceanPact by the United Kingdom Are Destined for the Implementation of Petrobras Oil Fields
Forum Energy Technologies (FET), from the United Kingdom, delivered three remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to OceanPact, based in Brazil, for deployment in Petrobras oil fields.
The new 200HP Perry XLX-C ROVs, manufactured at FET’s facilities in the United Kingdom in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, will be deployed on two OceanPact vessels to support inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) services for the Brazilian state-owned oil and gas company, Petrobras.
Each XLX-C was provided to OceanPact for use in Petrobras with a suspended tool skid for additional tools and mounting options and a comprehensive package of supplemental tools, including torque tools, verification units, and fluid injection systems.

More Features of the UK ROVs
In addition, the ROVs were delivered to OceanPact for use in Petrobras fields with a launch and active compensated Dynacon recovery system, as well as associated surface control and power facilities.
FET also delivered a VMAX ROV Simulator configured with a complete XLX-C Console, which is supplied with a range of training exercises or ‘scenarios’, each designed to train and assess the pilot’s competency in a variety of skills, such as cable management, manipulator control, and tool operation.
According to Simone Pizzolato, FET’s commercial manager in the UK: “We continue to see high demand for our latest generation of XLX-C vehicles, as our customers recognize the benefits of their enhanced performance in a more compact form.”
According to FET, the 200HP XLX-C rated for 3,000 m depth offers the high performance of a work-class vehicle in a smaller form. It is also noteworthy that the vehicles feature a high-flow auxiliary hydraulic circuit combined with a high load capacity to transport additional tools and sensors.
