The round, which had been temporarily suspended in April due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was resumed by the ANP after the decision of the National Energy Policy Council to hold the auction in 2021.
The pre-bid notice and the draft concession contract will be open for public consultation for 60 days, until January 28, and the public hearing will be held via videoconference on February 3.

92 oil blocks belonging to the Campos, Pelotas, Potiguar, and Santos Basins will be offered in the 17th round rescheduled by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels.
Blocks that may contain deposits located beyond 200 nautical miles, on the extent of Brazil’s Continental Shelf have been included.
The public session for the presentation of bids for the 17th Round of Bidding is scheduled for October 7 of next year.
Today also marks the beginning of the deadline for the payment of the participation fee and registration for the round, which ends after the publication of the notice, on August 11. With the submission of the electronic registration form, payment of the participation fee, and compliance with other conditions outlined in the pre-bid notice, bidders will be able to access the technical data packages selected by the ANP for the bidding.
The ANP makes these documents available for public consultation until January 28, 2021.
