Arrival of BYD Electric Car Causes Significant Price Drop for Renault Kwid E-Tech, Resulting in Savings for Consumers.
The market for electric vehicles in Brazil is becoming increasingly competitive. In a recent move to stand out, Renault updated the price tag of its Renault Kwid E-Tech, its electric car that was already considered one of the cheapest in the country.
New Price of Kwid E-Tech is a Strategy Against Competitors
Renault announced a significant price adjustment for the Renault Kwid E-Tech, now selling for R$ 139,990, a considerable savings of R$ 10,000 compared to its previous price. This price cut comes in response to the growing competition, especially following the launch of the BYD Dolphin in June.
Other models, such as the Caoa Chery iCar, have also taken similar measures, reflecting the intense battle in the affordable electric vehicle segment.

Price Evolution of Renault Kwid E-Tech
When the Renault Kwid E-Tech was launched in April of last year (2022), the introductory price was R$ 142,990. However, after a brief increase, the automaker decided to lower the price, likely to contend with newcomers in this market.
Despite this pricing move, automotive industry experts believe that the Renault Kwid E-Tech will still face challenges, especially against the BYD Dolphin, priced at R$ 149,800. The Chinese-origin vehicle offers larger dimensions, more interior space, and additional features.
