FPSO BW Pioneer has renewed contract and will continue operating for the joint venture formed by Murphy and Petrobras
BW Offshore and MP GOM (a joint venture (JV) between Murphy Oil and Petrobras) renewed the FPSO BW Pioneer contract for operation in the Cascade and Chinook deepwater fields, in the Gulf of Mexico.

The contract has a duration stated in a clause until March 2025, and may be extended for another five years. The vessel, which has a capacity of 80 bopd, has been chartered by Murphy since 2012.

MP GOM was formed in 2018, with an 80% stake held by Murphy and 20% by Petrobras America. According to publisher Brasil Energia, the JV's list of assets includes the St. Malo, Lucius and Hadrian North, Cottonwood, Hadrian South, Dalmatian, Front Runner, Clipper, Habanero, Kodiak, Medusa, Thunder Hawk, South Marsh Island 280, Garden Banks 200/201 and Tahoe.
