BRL 5.24 million transferred by Vale to the State of Minas Gerais will be used to strengthen the fight against COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
In March 2019, the company transferred the funds to the state for the preparation of a study on the risks of tailings to human health. However, after joint evaluations, the company itself took charge of conducting this study, which is still ongoing. The amount previously allocated will therefore be used for the renovation, improvement of infrastructure, and expansion of ICU beds at Hospital Eduardo de Menezes in Belo Horizonte.
