A Toyota, one of the most beloved automakers in the world, surprised again. The company officially announced the launch of a new popular car that is set to replace the beloved Etios. The Toyota Vitz, launched in South Africa, comes with an impeccable design proposal, compact power, and an unbelievably affordable price.

Redesigned After Four Years Out Of The Market

After four years without producing the model, Toyota relaunched the Vitz, redesigned to meet consumer expectations.

This model is sought after for its unique combination of compactness, power, and design, in addition to a price that makes many doubt its veracity. According to the automotive news portal, the starting price of the Vitz in 2024 is R$ 56 thousand, in direct conversion.

Coincidences And Expectations In The Brazilian Market

The launch of the Vitz in South Africa coincided with the dates of the Brazilian government’s incentive and tax reduction plan, which lasted until mid-June of last year.

This coincidence generated great expectations for the model’s arrival in Brazil, especially for its ability to compete with popular vehicles like the Renault Kwid and the Fiat Mobi.

Economy And Cutting-Edge Technology

According to Toyota itself, the Vitz comes equipped with a range of modern accessories. Among them, the standout features are the multimedia center compatible with Apple CarPlay, airbags, and a rear parking sensor.

Additionally, the Vitz is incredibly efficient in fuel economy, according to Toyota. However, according to the Canal Tech portal, the mechanical set of the Vitz, with a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine and 67hp of power, falls behind competitors in terms of engine.

It has a 5-speed manual transmission, with other configurations, including automatic transmission, available on Toyota’s local website.

The Possibility Of The Vitz In Brazil

Despite the excitement about the arrival of such a car in Brazil, Toyota has not officially confirmed the commercialization of the Vitz in the country. In a statement to the Globo portal Auto Esporte, the automaker stated that “it has no plans to market this model in Brazil”.

Nonetheless, it is known that, if the Vitz arrives in Brazil, it will face numerous challenges. According to the Automotive News portal, the model could be considered “expensive” for many Brazilian consumers, which could hinder its sales.

Additionally, Toyota has not yet fully captured the Brazilian audience when it comes to popular cars, as evidenced by the modest performance of the Etios in the national market.

History Of The Toyota Vitz

The Toyota Vitz entered the market in 1999, underwent an upgrade in 2005, and had its third generation launched in 2010. None of these versions made it to Brazil.

The expectation for this to change with the new model is high, but the uncertainties are also significant. The arrival of the Vitz in Brazil depends on several factors, including public acceptance and Toyota’s market strategies.
