Solfácil Highlights 31% Drop in Prices, Paving the Way for Sustainability

Brazil is witnessing a significant transformation in the solar energy market, with an average cost reduction of 31%, as indicated by a recent study by Solfácil, the vanguard of the solar energy ecosystem in Latin America. This milestone, recorded between the last quarters of 2022 and 2023, reflects a sharp decrease from R$ 4.22 to R$ 2.91 per watt-peak (Wp), primarily driven by lower prices for solar equipment, favorable exchange rate variations, and reduced import costs. Notably, the last quarter of 2023 alone saw an additional decrease of 8%.

This advancement puts the Central-West region at the forefront with the lowest price in the country, followed by Southeast, Northeast, South, and North, all registering significant cost declines. The expanded accessibility of solar energy represents not only relief against rising electricity prices but also reinforces Brazil’s commitment to clean and renewable energy sources.

Regional Performance Highlights Cost Reduction

Each region of Brazil has demonstrated a significant price reduction, with Sergipe, Alagoas, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, and Maranhão leading the way, highlighting the democratization of solar energy. This trend is a positive sign for consumers and businesses, who now see solar energy as a viable and economical alternative to conventional electricity.

Solfácil’s analysis of inverter brand preferences reveals a constantly evolving market dynamic, with Growatt maintaining the lead, while Deye, Goodwe, and Solplanet gain ground. This diversity reflects the adaptability and growth of the Brazilian solar sector, setting the stage for future innovations and developments.

Solfácil Leads the Energy Transition

As a driving force in the Brazilian solar ecosystem since 2018, Solfácil not only facilitates access to equipment and financing but also plays a crucial role in promoting sustainability. The company has already significantly contributed to the reduction of CO2 emissions, equivalent to the work of more than 354 thousand trees over two decades.

Fábio Carrara, CEO and founder of Solfácil, emphasizes the growing viability of residential solar energy, thanks to falling prices and favorable financing conditions. This moment represents a turning point for solar energy in Brazil, making it an increasingly attractive option for a broader audience.

The Bright Future of Solar Energy in Brazil

The reduction in solar energy prices marks a decisive moment in Brazil’s journey towards a greener and more sustainable future. With Solfácil in the lead, the transition to solar energy not only promises a positive environmental impact but also offers an economical solution to the country’s energy challenge. This progress signals an era of expanded opportunities for consumers, businesses, and the environment, solidifying the role of solar energy as a backbone of the Brazilian energy matrix.
