Deliberative Council Approves Advances in the Business Model of the New Vila Belmiro in Partnership with WTorre

During an Extraordinary Session held on May 8, Santos FC presented new advances in the project for its future multipurpose arena, with construction expected to start in 2025. The club confirmed changes in the business model and guarantees to current seat lessees.

New Arena Project Is a Strategic Step for Santos FC

The Santos FC board took another significant step towards the modernization of its home. In an extraordinary meeting of the Deliberative Council held on May 8, the Management Committee and representatives of the WTorre company, responsible for the project, presented the current status of the new arena project. With a capacity anticipated for 30,000 people, the structure will maintain covered seating and different accommodation sectors, including bleachers, seats, and boxes. Financing will be facilitated through the pre-sale of properties, as reported on the club’s official website (santosfc.com.br).

Santos FC Forecasts Construction Start in 2025

The new stadium will be built on the site of the current Vila Belmiro, with the expectation that construction will begin in the second half of 2025. The estimated investment in the project is R$ 700 million, with a duration of 36 to 40 months. During the construction period, the board is considering using the Pacaembu Arena, currently named Mercado Livre Arena, to host the team’s games. This information was confirmed by the Estadão portal, which also detailed the changes in the business model agreed upon with WTorre, considered more advantageous for the club.

Business Model Reshaping Reinforces Santos FC’s Commitment

According to the president of the Deliberative Council, Fernando Akaoui, relevant changes were made to the club’s percentages of participation in profits from games and events at the new arena. The adjustments include guarantees for current owners of season tickets and priority purchase in the pre-sale for special seat lessees. These changes, according to Akaoui, reinforce the transparency and solidity of the long-term project. Additionally, according to the Santos FC portal, local authorities also participated in the meeting, including the Secretary of Government of Santos, Fábio Ferraz.

New Arena Is a Pillar for Santos FC’s Institutional Future

In addition to the physical structure, the new arena represents a milestone in the attempt to recover the institutional image of Santos FC. Facing financial and structural challenges in recent years, the club seeks to reposition itself in the national sports scene with a modern and multifunctional infrastructure. The initiative has been seen as essential to attract new sponsors, increase revenues, and strengthen the club’s presence in the market, according to an analysis published by the BolaVip Brasil portal.
