Partnership between City Hall and SENAI expands access to professional training, boosts employability, and creates new opportunities for residents seeking income and growth

The search for professional qualification grows every day. Therefore, public initiatives gain even more importance when they offer real opportunities for life change. The information was released by “g1”, based on data from the São Gonçalo City Hall, which announced the opening of 140 free spots in professional courses, in partnership with SENAI.

In this context, the Secretariat of Economic Development leads the initiative and reinforces the municipality’s commitment to generating employment and income. Furthermore, the project facilitates access to technical education, which directly increases the chances of entering the job market.

In total, the City Hall distributes the spots across four strategic courses. This way, different candidate profiles can participate. Check them out:

  • 15 spots for industrial seamstress with emphasis on lingerie
  • 50 spots for boilermaker
  • 25 spots for pattern maker
  • 50 spots for maintenance mechanic

Thus, both those seeking their first job and those looking to re-enter the workforce find a concrete opportunity.

Free courses cater to different education levels and expand access

First, it’s worth noting that the courses cater to candidates with different education levels. This makes the initiative more inclusive and accessible.

For the industrial seamstress course, candidates must be 18 years or older and have completed the 9th year of elementary school. Additionally, interested parties must register in person by 1 PM on May 11th at the Municipal Secretariat of Economic Development, at Partage Shopping, next to Casas Bahia.

Afterward, classes begin on May 12th and take place from Monday to Friday, from 6 PM to 10 PM, at Rua Araxá, nº 201, in the Trindade neighborhood.

On the other hand, those wishing to take the boilermaker course must be 18 years old and have completed the 5th year of elementary school. In this case, interested parties must register by May 18th, directly at SENAI, located on Rua Doutor Nilo Peçanha, in Centro.

Classes begin on May 19th and take place at two times:

  • from 1 PM to 5 PM
  • from 6 PM to 10 PM

Meanwhile, the pattern maker course accepts candidates aged 16 years or older, with education up to the 7th year of elementary school. The registration deadline is May 15th, and classes begin on May 16th, always on Saturdays, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Free technical training increases employability and income

In addition to offering training, the program also strengthens employability. After all, areas such as mechanics, industrial sewing, and boilermaking have constant market demand.

For the maintenance mechanic course, for example, candidates must be 16 years or older and have completed the 5th year of elementary school. To participate, simply go to SENAI and register.

Classes take place in two shifts:

  • from 1 PM to 5 PM, starting on May 13th
  • from 6 PM to 10 PM, starting on May 19th

This way, students can choose the schedule that best suits their routine.

Additionally, to complete registration, candidates must present:

  • RG and CPF
  • proof of residence
  • proof of education
  • completed low-income declaration letter
  • guardian’s documents (for minors)

It’s worth noting that spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, those who apply early increase their chances of securing a spot.

Initiative strengthens local economy and creates new opportunities

Finally, this type of initiative goes far beyond the classroom. In practice, it directly impacts the local economy.

When the City Hall invests in professional qualification, it:

  • reduces unemployment
  • increases the population’s income
  • strengthens the industrial sector
  • trains skilled labor

Furthermore, the partnership with SENAI ensures high-quality technical education, recognized throughout Brazil.

Therefore, those who participate in these courses not only learn a profession but also expand their growth opportunities.

If you could choose one of these courses today, which one would you take to change your professional life?
