The First Photovoltaic Energy Plant in SP in Testing Phase
A project with a good share of investment – Over 450 thousand just in equipment and a total of 100 kW of power and an area of one thousand square meters.
A testing period of 90 days will initially take place; throughout the testing phase, specialists will evaluate whether the installation of the photovoltaic plant is indeed viable and if it meets the operational parameters. If this test is positive, the idea is for more than one plant to be installed around the Billings and Guarapiranga reservoirs. It seems like a brilliant idea.

‘The Support of the Population and Privatization Is Extremely Important’ Claims Marcos Penido, Secretary of Infrastructure and Environment
“We are increasingly seeking ways to encourage the preservation of the environment through the sustainable development of these reservoirs that are extremely important for the region’s supply,” he adds.
Tractebel, which is the engineering company responsible for overseeing and developing the photovoltaic plant project, will also be the main one responsible for the installation of plants I, II, and III.
For better utilization of the solar energy that will be generated during the testing phase of the photovoltaic plant, Jacinto Maia Pimentel states that the project will also include energy storage in hydrogen and electrochemical systems.
“We will store energy generated from the solar source to seek a longer period of energy supply from this source,” said the technical manager of the Research, Services, and Technological Innovation Management of Furnas, Jacinto Maia Pimentel.
