The Competition Between Saveiro and Hilux in the Brazilian Pickup Market Is More Intense Than Ever. See Which One Leads the Ranking of the Most Sold Pickups in Brazil
Pickups have recorded high sales in Brazil, representing about 20% of the national automotive market, according to a survey by Bright Consulting. The sector remains heated, with new brands entering the competition and the traditional ones investing in updates, intensifying the battle among the most sold pickups in Brazil.
In this scenario, the veteran Volkswagen Saveiro surprised, achieving the third position in sales, ahead of the Toyota Hilux, until then one of the favorites.

Most Sold Pickups in Brazil! Fiat Strada and Fiat Toro Maintain Leadership
Fiat Strada remains the isolated leader of the segment, with 9,889 units sold by October 23, surpassing more than double the second place, Fiat Toro, which registered 4,014 units.

The Saveiro benefits from its history in the country and its versatile profile, attracting both professionals and urban consumers.
Hilux: Solid Among Mid-Size Pickups
The Hilux, although dethroned by the Saveiro in the overall count, maintains leadership among mid-size pickups. With its robustness and established reputation, the Japanese pickup is expected in its hybrid version soon.
The new model is set to begin assembling in Argentina starting in 2025, with a 48V system, reinforcing the electrification trend in the segment.
Intense Competition for Other Positions
In fifth place is the Ford Ranger, with 2,612 units, approaching the Chevrolet S10 (2,064), which received updates in April and shows growth potential. The Chevrolet Montana, in turn, remains in seventh, with 2,049 units, targeting the segment led by the Fiat Toro.
The Montana may gain heavyweight competitors soon, with launches like the Renault Niagara and the Volkswagen Tarok, expanding the competition.
Ram Rampage and Volkswagen Amarok Growing
In eighth place, with 1,566 units, the Ram Rampage shows progress, although it still needs more strength to compete directly with the leading mid-size pickups. Just behind is the Volkswagen Amarok (902 units), which recently underwent updates.
Tenth is the Renault Oroch, which is set to be replaced by the Renault Niagara, with production in Argentina planned for 2026.
