For this Wednesday, (07/09), the region of Macaé is even stronger in the Brazilian market as a highlight in job creation. This is because the Rio de Janeiro municipality reached its highest job balance in 2022, with more than 1000 positions generated only in July. The oil, gas, and energy industry has been strongly benefited, especially from the exploration of the Campos Basin, and residents are securing new income opportunities.
The Government of Macaé Has Been Heavily Investing in Job Generation and Growth in the Oil, Gas, and Energy Industry
The highlight of the Macaé region in job generation in the national market did not happen by chance, as the local and state governments have been heavily investing in project development.
Moreover, the focus is also on business organizations operating in the Campos Basin, an important venture that ensures Macaé a foundation of investments of around R$ 25 billion over the next five years.

Results Have Been Observed Throughout the First Half of 2022, with Job Generation on the Rise
Thus, job generation in the oil, gas, and energy industry has become one of the highlights of the Macaé market.
Only in July, the region of Macaé generated a percentage of over 1,000 new formal jobs, according to data updated this week by the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged).
Mayor Welberth Rezende highlighted that the main objective of the municipal government at the moment is to benefit residents with new job opportunities.
The offshore sector has been the key driver of job growth in the region following 2020, with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, and 2019, with the recovery from the crisis.
Between January and July of this year, the local industry has already generated more than 5,000 formal job positions.
The Year 2021 Was One of Great Results for the Macaé Industry, and Results Are Expected to Grow in 2022
During 2021, the city of Macaé ranked among the seven cities that created the most job vacancies in the State of Rio de Janeiro, with over 7,000 jobs generated.
The data comes from the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Firjan) and confirms the relevance of the oil, gas, and energy industry in the city’s socioeconomic development.
Thus, Secretary Rodrigo Viana emphasizes: “We have outlined strategies, coordinating with state and federal governments, to address issues assertively, bringing all institutions together. There is a coalition of important mayors from our region, with the goal of achieving necessary and fundamental changes to enhance economic and sustainable development, which is essential for the investments that yield, at their core, this excellent result for society, which has been the creation of jobs and income generation.”
For the year 2022, the results are already exceeding those of the previous year and are expected to continue expanding by year-end.
