Lighthouse Platform Transforms Asset Management in FPSOs
Shape Digital, an innovative company in the digital services sector for industrial plants, has expanded the application of its digital platform Lighthouse in two important FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) operated by Petrobras in Brazil. Lighthouse, focused on Intelligent Asset Management, is designed to improve reliability, optimize maintenance costs, enhance productive efficiency, reduce risks, and decrease greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The platform has the remarkable ability to detect early signs of equipment deterioration and abnormalities in processes.
The FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32, one of the largest in Brazil located in the Búzios field in the Santos Basin, can process up to 150,000 barrels of crude oil per day and 6 million cubic meters of gas. The Anita Garibaldi MV33, capable of processing 80,000 barrels of oil and 7 million m³ of gas per day, is also equipped with Lighthouse technology. Both vessels will benefit from the platform’s ability to centralize, organize, and contextualize data, controlling process variables, maintenance, off-line inspections, complete alarm history, and asset integrity management.
Transformative Impact of Lighthouse on FPSO Operations
Felipe Baldissera, VP of Energy at Shape Digital, highlights the effectiveness of Lighthouse in generating significant results for the plants through advanced data use. The implementation of the platform in 2023 resulted in a reduction of over 15% in production downtime for the connected units. This not only contributed to lower maintenance costs but also promoted greater operational safety and increased oil and gas production. Currently, the fleet equipped with Lighthouse represents over 25% of national production, demonstrating the substantial impact of the platform on operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Shape Digital and Its Commitment to Innovation in the Oil and Gas Sector
Shape Digital is recognized for its expertise in providing advanced technological solutions for the oil and gas sector. With the implementation of Lighthouse in the FPSOs Almirante Barroso MV32 and Anita Garibaldi MV33, the company reaffirms its commitment to leading digital transformation in the sector. The integration of technologies such as AI for predicting operational failures and efficient data management are testaments to the innovative potential of Shape Digital in shaping the future of the oil and gas industry in Brazil and worldwide.
