In an Innovative Partnership, Sony and Honda Developed a High-Tech Electric Sedan with Two Powerful Motors and an Impressive Range of Up to 700 km.
A Sony Honda Mobility (SHM), the result of the partnership between the Sony Group and Honda Motor, is closer to transforming the electric vehicle market with the Afeela.
The prototype of the sedan will be presented to the public in January 2025 in Las Vegas. With all-wheel drive, two electric motors, and cutting-edge technology, the model aims to redefine the experience of mobility with electric vehicles.

Innovation in the Spotlight
The SHM will make its first public presentation of the Afeela on January 6, 2025, during the Sony Group press conference. The following day, the company will hold a presentation detailing the technical and conceptual aspects of the model.

Another Chinese giant prepares to enter Brazil: BAIC bets on the Arcfox T1, an electric hatchback that promises to compete with the BYD Dolphin, BYD Dolphin Mini, and Geely EX2 with a larger size and a range of up to 425 km.

Hyundai launches a 7-seater ‘Kombi’ cheaper than Chevrolet Spin, Citroën Aircross, and Tiggo 8 Pro in Brazil; for around R$ 78,500 in conversion without taxes, the Hyundai Stargazer Cartenz features a 1.5 engine, manual or IVT transmission, 205 mm ground clearance, and the SmartSense package that Brazilians don’t have yet, but Indonesia does.
At the CES booth, visitors will be able to explore the updated design of the sedan and understand the principles that guide the brand: autonomy, enhancement, and affinity.
These pillars reinforce SHM’s commitment to delivering a vehicle that expands the boundaries of interaction between humans and technology while promoting integration with society. Mass production of the Afeela is expected in 2025, with the first deliveries planned for 2026.

High-Level Design and Performance
The Afeela sedan impresses with its performance and futuristic design. Equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle, the model delivers 241 horsepower from each unit. Although the official combined power has not been disclosed, experts estimate that the car could reach up to 400 horsepower.
The air suspension system and modern staggered tires provide a stable and adaptable ride. Powered by a 91.0 kWh battery, the Afeela supports fast charging of up to 150 kW. Although the exact range has yet to be confirmed, it is expected to achieve a range of 400 to 440 miles (approx. 708 km) on a single charge.

Minimalist and Functional Cabin
The interior of the Afeela combines simplicity and sophistication. The U-shaped steering wheel, inspired by the Tesla Model S Plaid, draws attention with its bold design. Ambient lighting and a clean layout create a futuristic and inviting atmosphere.
A fully digital dashboard and a centralized rotary driver provide intuitive access to the vehicle’s systems. Although the interior space appears generous, final details on comfort and ergonomics will only be confirmed in the next launch.
Innovative Entertainment with Ridevu
In addition to performance, SHM aims to revolutionize automotive entertainment. The Afeela will feature Ridevu, an exclusive service from Sony Pictures Entertainment. This system allows occupants to access hundreds of movies directly in the vehicle, via purchase or rental through the app.
The idea is to transform the car into a creative entertainment space, enhancing the experience of the driver and passengers. With this, SHM seeks to attract an audience that values not only mobility but also connectivity and leisure.
By combining Sony’s technological expertise with Honda’s automotive tradition, SHM promises to deliver an unprecedented experience in the electric vehicle segment. More than just a means of transportation, the Afeela aims to redefine the relationship between people and mobility.
