Elon Musk's hypothetical email "order" has caused a standoff between the new department and traditional government structures
There is a report circulating in the international press controversial information involving Elon Musk and an alleged email sent to US civil servants. According to the magazine Fortune, the billionaire would have used the newly created Department of Optimizing Governance and Efficiency (DOGE) to require weekly reports from all federal employees, at risk of immediate dismissal for lack of response, according to the Terra website.
Mandatory report in Elon Musk's “email”
The publication claims that the alleged email sent by Elon Musk to more than 2,3 million federal employees brought the following subject: “What did you do last week?”
In the body of Elon Musk's message, it was requested that each employee reported your activities from the last week. If the email was not responded to within 48 hours, the absence would be interpreted as abandonment of duty.

Resistance from federal agencies
According to the same source, institutions such as NASA, the Pentagon and the FBI chose not to respond to the statement, claiming that the confidential nature of its activities prevents this type of disclosure, even internally.
This possible resistance would have generated tensions between the new department, allegedly led by Musk, and the traditional pillars of American public administration.
It is worth remembering that Musk has already used similar strategies in the past. In 2022, upon taking over Twitter (now X), he sent internal messages asking for immediate adherence to the company's new guidelines, which ended up resulting in large-scale layoffs.
