VinFast Lạc Hồng 900 LX Armored SUV Combines Extreme Luxury, Imposing Look, and Resistance to Grenades and High-Powered Rifles
VinFast, the Vietnamese manufacturer looking to consolidate an international space, presented an unprecedented version of the VF 9 SUV in its homeland. Called Lạc Hồng 900 LX, the model was developed in partnership with the Canadian company Inkas, a global reference in automotive armor.
SUV with Military-Grade Armor
The utility vehicle was designed to meet the needs of customers who require more than just comfort. Executives and authorities make up the target audience, as the proposal is to combine sophistication with safety in standards rarely seen in the industry.
According to the manufacturer, the 900 LX withstands rifle shots, including armor-piercing ammunition. Additionally, it survived the simultaneous explosion of two DM51 grenades. In extreme tests, the vehicle endured 400 laser-guided shots.

Forget the basic popular car: used sedans like Passat CC, Kia Cerato, Nissan Altima, Mitsubishi Lancer, and Volvo S60 show that it’s still possible to buy more performance, comfort, and technology for less than many new compacts.

Adjusted Performance
The heavy armor required changes to the mechanical set. Both the conventional and armored versions use a 123 kWh battery provided by CATL. However, the adjustment in the engine aimed to compensate for the additional mass.
The regular model delivers 402 hp and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The special version reaches 455 hp combined but takes 9.8 seconds to cover the same distance. The torque is identical in both: 63.2 kgfm.
Style and Luxury
The design also received attention. The front now features a chrome grille, while golden details spread across door handles, the hood, and other external points. Therefore, the imposing look helps reinforce the exclusive status of the utility vehicle.
Inside the cabin, the environment was designed to convey refinement. High-quality leather covers the seats and panels, while noble wood and golden finishes create a luxurious atmosphere.
An SUV for the Few
The Lạc Hồng 900 LX was not created for large production volumes. The focus is to cater to a restricted niche, offering advanced security without sacrificing comfort.
This is why VinFast bets on this project as a technological showcase and for international prestige.
The launch reinforces the Vietnamese brand’s ambition to position itself among global automakers, showing that luxury and armor can indeed go hand in hand.
