The Purpose Of The New Technology, With The Thermoelectric Generator Of Electricity, Is To Seek To Be A Reliable And Alternative Source Of Energy
A new self-powered thermoelectric generator can produce electricity continuously and sustainably, day and night, even in cloudy conditions. This technology promises to overcome some of the limitations of traditional energy sources, such as batteries, and become a reliable power source for small electronic devices, like external sensors, according to the site Portal Energia.
Thermoelectric generators are a technology of solid mobile devices that rely on temperature differences to generate electricity, with no moving parts. However, some of these generators have unstable temperature differences and ultimately do not generate enough electricity to be useful. To improve the efficiency of these devices, a team of researchers developed a new thermoelectric generator.
This new technology utilizes two main components, called Ultra-Broadband Solar Absorber (UBSA) and Planar Radioactive Cooling Emitter (RCE), which can be applied on a flexible substrate, useful for portable devices that generate clean energy. The UBSA captures light and heats one side of the generator, while the RCE protects the other side, thus releasing heat. This technological process creates a temperature difference that is capable of generating electricity and energy more efficiently.

The Process Of The Technology For Creating Energy And Electricity
During the night, or on cloudy days, the temperature difference is significantly reduced due to the absence of direct sunlight. But there is still a temperature difference capable of producing electricity, with lower efficiency than under optimal conditions. The research team’s technology conducted outdoor tests in different conditions and monitored the output voltage of the device. The results revealed that it can generate electricity continuously during the day, at night, and in cloudy conditions.
During the day, the device reached a peak voltage of 166.2 mV, enough to power a sensor or a small device. At night, with a clear sky, and in cloudy conditions, the device created with the developed technology generated 14.7 mV and 95 mV, respectively. Researchers, however, continue working to further optimize the efficiency, durability, and scalability of the thermoelectric device, with the goal of testing it long-term under various conditions.
In addition, they intend to explore its potential for mass electricity production at reasonable costs and, thus, apply it in remote or underdeveloped areas where traditional energy sources are not available. In summary, this new technology promises to be a continuous and sustainable energy solution for electronic devices, becoming a small reliable power source in various conditions.
