Design and dimensions
Manufactured in Sorocaba, São Paulo, the 2019 Toyota Yaris is derived from the Thai model, but with adaptations that make it unique to the National market. It is more spacious than its European version, measuring 4,14 meters long, 1,73 meters wide and with a wheelbase of 2,55 meters. In terms of technology, the digital panel of the XLS version is modern and exclusive, but the multimedia center is lacking in that it does not support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, something common among competitors.
Engine and performance of this Toyota
The 1.5 110 horsepower engine, inherited from the Etios, is given a new lease of life with the CVT transmission. The set is agile and efficient, providing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 10,9 seconds. In terms of consumption, the model achieves 8,5 km/l in the city and 12,2 km/l on the highway with ethanol, very competitive numbers.
The suspension, soft and adjusted for Brazilian streets, is a positive point, ensuring comfort on uneven terrain. The CVT gearbox, similar to the Corolla's, operates smoothly, offering a good experience both in the city and on the highway.
Costs and maintenance
As is Toyota's tradition, the 2019 Toyota Yaris stands out for its cost-effective maintenance. Up to 60 km, maintenance costs only R$2.914, making it the most economical in its segment. For comparison purposes, the Honda Fit costs R$4.250 in the same period.
