Southern Company Stands Out By Investing In Sustainable Trucks And Aims For 100% Alternative Energy By 2035
You won’t believe what the carrier Reiter Log is doing for the environment!
The Reiter Log, a southern company that is a reference in logistics operations in Brazil and Latin America, has established itself as the carrier with the largest fleet of sustainable trucks in the country. With a total of 248 gas-powered trucks and over 15 light and heavy electric models, the company demonstrates its commitment to operating with 100% vehicles powered by alternative energies by 2035.
This year, Reiter Log was the protagonist of the first deal by Volvo in the heavy electric truck segment in Brazil, acquiring five units of the FM Electric. Additionally, the company acquired another 10 electric trucks from XCMG. “These are 15 new vehicles that reinforce our commitment to sustainability”, says the CEO of the carrier, Vinícius Reiter Pilz.

A R$ 300 million logistics giant is taking shape in Serra with over 100,000 m² and raises a question: how can this transform e-commerce and distribution in the state?
“We are seeking to decarbonize our fleet and daily expanding the offer of green logistics, ensuring our clients’ deliveries with proven reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and directly contributing to CO2 reduction targets”, adds Pilz.
The heavy electric fleet adds to the 248 Scania trucks 100% powered by gas and the JAC Motors models, which operate in last-mile operations. “We are an important part of the logistics chain and our mission is also to seek companies, entrepreneurs, and executives as partners in this long-term investment journey in sustainable transportation solutions”, highlights the ESG director of the carrier, Vanessa Reiter Pilz.
She notes that there is not a single solution when it comes to alternative energy, but one that best fits each client’s operation. Factors such as autonomy and fueling points are carefully studied in the planning of each route.
The ongoing investment in more sustainable transportation solutions is already reflected in the company’s numbers. The adoption of the clean fleet increased the client portfolio by 30%, according to Vanessa. “As a leader in renewable energy, Brazil plays a fundamental role in accelerating decarbonization and that is Reiter’s focus. We see how committed companies are, and we are confident that we will achieve significant progress in this area with the introduction of heavy electric vehicles, especially concerning load capacity”, explains Vinícius.
And you, do you believe that initiatives like those of the carrier Reiter Log can inspire other companies to invest in sustainability and alternative energies?
