Want To Learn A New Language? UFPB Opens 350 Spots for Korean and Mandarin Courses with Registrations from March 17 to 20
The Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) is offering 350 spots for Korean courses and Mandarin, providing a unique opportunity for those who wish to learn one of these languages. Registrations will take place from March 17 to 20 and must be made through the Integrated System for Academic Activity Management (SIGAA).
The Mandarin courses are free for adults and cover different levels. For children aged 7 to 12 years, there is a registration fee of R$ 100. The Korean course, available only at Level 1, has a cost of R$ 200. Staff and students of UFPB can request a fee waiver, provided that the request is made on March 14, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., through an electronic form.

- Class 2 (10 to 12 years): Saturday – from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Mandarin for Adults – Level 1
- Class A (In-Person): Monday and Wednesday – from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Class B (In-Person): Monday and Wednesday – from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Class C (Online): Tuesday and Thursday – from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Mandarin for Adults – Level 2
- Class A (Online): Monday and Wednesday – from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Class B (Online): Tuesday and Thursday – from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Mandarin for Adults – Level 3
- Class A (Online): Tuesday and Thursday – from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Mandarin for Adults – Level 4
- Class A (Online): Monday and Wednesday – from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Korean – Level 1
- Class A (In-Person): Wednesday and Friday – from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Class B (Online): Tuesday and Thursday – from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
How Does the Selection Process Work?
Those interested in the Korean and Mandarin courses at UFPB must register between March 17 and 20 through SIGAA. After registration, candidates will be selected according to the order of registration and availability of spots.
The courses have a total workload of 45 hours and begin on March 22 for the classes that will meet on Saturdays. For classes held during the week, the start date is set for March 24.
Those opting for the Korean course and wishing to request a waiver for the registration fee must submit the request on March 14, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., by filling out the electronic form provided by the university.
