The Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul (IFMS) has opened registrations for 315 vacancies in free language courses, in the Initial and Continuing Education (FIC) modality. Scheduled to start in the first half of 2025, the courses include options in Spanish and English, with a hybrid approach: distance learning combined with a weekly face-to-face class in the municipalities of Amambai, Antรดnio Joรฃo, Costa Rica, Dourados, Nova Alvorada do Sul, Nova Andradina and Ribas do Rio Pardo.

The available options are for the levels Basic Spanish I, Basic English I and Basic English II. The objective is to provide participants with practical language learning, focused on real-life situations and the job market. Each course lasts five months and has a workload of 200 hours, divided between online activities and face-to-face meetings.

How the selection works and who can participate

Selection for free courses will be carried out through a public draw. To enter Basic English II, an online placement test will be required, ensuring that candidates have the necessary prior knowledge.

Details must meet specific educational requirements, which vary depending on the course. For basic levels, candidates must have completed elementary school for Spanish and must be enrolled in or have completed high school for English.

Vacancies and municipalities

Free language courses are distributed across seven municipalities. Below, some options and locations are highlighted:

  • Basic English I and II: Amambai, Antรดnio Joรฃo, Costa Rica, Nova Alvorada do Sul and Nova Andradina.
  • Basic Spanish I and II: Ribas do Rio Pardo, Costa Rica and Nova Alvorada do Sul.
In-person classes take place once a week, in the evening or afternoon, according to the schedule of each location.

Schedule

Registration for free courses can be completed until January 3rd on the Candidate Page of the IFMS Selection Center. Those who do not have access to the internet can use the computers available at the Relationship Centers on the campuses or at the teaching centers.

The public draw is scheduled for January 13, with the rankings published on January 16. The placement test for candidates for Basic English II will take place between January 27 and 29, with results released on January 31.

First call registrations will take place between February 3rd and 12th, and classes will start between March 17th and 21st, 2025.

How to register for free courses

To register for free language courses, the candidate must access the Candidate Page, register or update your details, choose the course and location you want and confirm your registration. After that, a confirmation will be sent by email.

Don't miss the chance to learn a new language and enhance your professional skills! The certificate, which is valid nationwide, is an excellent opportunity to highlight your CV and open new doors in the job market.
