Russia Alerts Of Risk Similar To Chernobyl Disaster If Iranian Nuclear Plant In Bushehr Is Attacked; Iran And Israel Continue Exchanging Bombings.
The tension between Iran and Israel has reached a new level. Amid the escalating attacks between the two countries, Russia issued a serious warning: a potential attack on the Iranian nuclear plant in Bushehr could cause a catastrophe “in the style of Chernobyl.”
Russian Concern About Nuclear Safety
The warning came from the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova. She stated that Moscow is seriously concerned about the safety of the plant, which is currently the only one in operation in Iran.
The facility was built by the Russians and still houses hundreds of workers from the country.

Chernobyl is remembered as the worst nuclear disaster in history.
The accident, which occurred in 1986, was classified as level 7 on the International Nuclear Events Scale — the highest possible — the same classification as the Fukushima disaster in Japan.
Due to the current threat, Russia has already evacuated some of its specialists from the Bushehr plant. However, workers connected to the construction of other nuclear facilities in the region remain on site.
The Russian state nuclear energy company, Rosatom, stated that it is ready to withdraw all its employees rapidly if the threat of an attack materializes.
President Vladimir Putin previously declared that he received assurances from Israel that the Bushehr plant would not be attacked. But the atmosphere of uncertainty remains.
Cluster Bombs And Attacks On Civilians
As alerts grow, the war between Iran and Israel continues to intensify. During the night of Thursday and the morning of Friday, new attacks were reported from both sides.
Israel accused Iran of using a missile with a cluster bomb against a densely populated area.
This is the first time this type of weapon has been used in this war. Cluster bombs release several smaller submunitions, known as bomblets. They can destroy vehicles, kill people, and cause significant damage in civilian areas.
According to reports, Iranian missiles also hit a hospital and an area near a Microsoft office in Israel. One of the greatest risks of this type of weapon is that not all bomblets explode upon impact, leaving lethal traps for the civilian population.
Israel Attacks Installations In Iran
In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a major offensive. A tweet from the IDF reported that 60 Israeli fighter jets attacked multiple locations in Tehran.
Among the targets were a decommissioned nuclear reactor in Arak, nuclear weapons development facilities near Natanz, as well as ballistic missile factories, radar systems, and military depots.
Despite the increase in violence, there is international movement to seek a diplomatic solution. Foreign ministers from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, along with a senior European Union diplomat, will meet with Iranian representatives in Geneva.
Behind the scenes, the United States is also involved in the talks. The UK Foreign Secretary has already met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other officials to discuss the future of the war and the Iranian nuclear program.
The White House reported that it needs two weeks to decide whether to become directly involved in the conflict. This timeline also serves as a window for negotiations between Iran and Israel.
Russia and China have reiterated their call for an immediate end to the war, advocating for a peaceful solution through dialogue.
